I Tell My Piano The Things I Used To Tell You

Contemporary Fiction | Romance

[ Unpublished. Querying for agents. ]

I tell my piano the things I used to tell you… before you were gone. A dual point-of-view contemporary romance for the heartbroken and diminished. For those of us who are at odds with our grief, yet our hearts’ desire to learn and accept love again. How long can the tension last?

Harper is two years post a degrading relationship with Scandinavian jerk, Blake, all the while living day-by-day with the grief of losing her beloved grandmother when she meets newly married Viv, her husband, Calum, and his brother… James.

Harper must revisit the trauma she experienced in her past relationship when Blake arrives back in town and hires the marketing company she works for to assist in his real estate acquisition, forcing Harper to work closely with her ex.

James is not expecting to expand his small circle to anyone new, let alone to someone so similar to his best friend who died by suicide. A loss he’s never allowed himself to move on from. With a new person entering their small familial circle, he is confronted with the qualities he so deeply loved in his best friend. This tension reawakens his heart, his grief, and his healing.

Harper and James must decide if they’ll allow grief to swallow, define, and diminish their lives or let it illuminate new ways to grow, choose to live life, and receive love again.

Whitewater

Contemporary Fiction | Romance

[ Unpublished. Querying for agents. ]

Whitewater. It’s the place where surfers begin, end, and return to over and over again. It’s where we meet Sadie, Jake, Graham, and Chloe at the precipice of adulthood, in all their messy sixteen-year-old miscommunication and angst, in the whitewater at the beach with surfboards in tow.

Sooner than they’re ready, “real life” happens and storms rage against their once-perfect summer days as Sadie faces the loss of a loved one, Graham and Chloe explore young love, and Jake… Well, Jake leaves right in the middle of all the mess.

Who has the rule book on how to grow up? How do you unbreak friendships? A decade later, these four friends will have the chance to confront themselves, each other, and these questions.

Will they let who they were all those years ago define who they’re growing to become? What does it look like to break the world’s rules of coming-of-age and believe in wherever you find yourself now?

This second-chance, friends-to-lovers story takes us from a beach town in Virginia to a Portugal road trip where surfing is the goal. Still, messy reconciliation, romance, and self-discovery flourish as the final destination.
